Letting Go is Essential to Progress

Five years ago, I left almost everything that had been a part of my almost sixty years of life. My husband and I made a big lifestyle change and moved into a sailing yacht and sailed around the world. I thought it was a big deal to leave all the material things, but it was just the beginning. Over the years I have let go of stress, habits and behaviours that no longer serve me, excess weight and even more things. Look at Nature – trees, flowers, clouds, waves – they let go all the time.

Our long passages across the oceans have taught me the importance of being with what may at first appear as emptiness. I am surrounded by the sky and the ocean, and now and then a bird or a flying fish. What do you do all day, people ask. I’m with what is. I am with myself, taking care of my body – eating and sleeping, apart from doing my watch shifts. I am with nature, with existence. I often get creative – my ideas for books often come when we are sailing.

To create something new, we need space.

The tech world often requires upgrades, the mobile apps as often as weekly. Now the time has come for my website. Interestingly, my blog is not included in the new upgrade. My thinking has evolved over the years, so I say thank you to the old and start over from scratch.

Welcome!
